Brothers of St. Patrick was founded in 1808 by Bishop Daniel Delany for providing moral, religious, and academic education to youth. From humble beginnings in Ireland, the Brothers established foundations in India, Australia, the United States, Kenya, Papua New Guinea, and Ghana. Arriving in California in 1948, Brothers have been ministering as teachers at various Catholic schools in Los Angeles and Orange County. The Brothers live in community, pray the Liturgy of the Hours, wear a habit, and have daily recreation together. The stages of formation for new Brothers include aspirancy, postulancy, novitiate (two years), temporary profession (3-6 years), and final profession. We invite men who are exploring the vocation to consecrated life as a Brother to discern with us.
