Is God calling you to be a sister? The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods are a community of vowed Catholic women religious founded in 1840 by Saint Mother Theodore Guerin. We carry her mission of love, mercy, and justice into all we do to live lives of authentic faithfulness, centered on God and total trust in Providence. We collaborate in the communities we serve to create a more just and hope-filled world through prayer, education, advocacy, and outreach. Our ministries are tuned to the needs of today, where we serve at the US/Mexico border, teach and serve in the fields of medicine, churches, social justice arenas, grief counseling, spiritual growth, provide for the hungry with our five-acre organic farm, and aid those in need. We invite women ages 18 to 42 to be bold, join us in service and mission and to be the light in a struggling world.
