An art teacher is drawn to something greater: Profile of Sister Lisa Perkowski, I.H.M.

Sister Lisa Perkowski, I.H.M. has seen her life goals shift a bit. As a kid with an artistic bent, she aspired to be a Disney animator. She discovered as a teenager that she liked working with children, so she embraced a new goal that combined her interests: art teacher. While in college, she met the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary of Scranton, Pennsylvania. She loved what they were about, and her dream stretched further. She eventually became an art teacher, joined the I.H.M. sisters, and has embraced the expansive focus of her community: “serving others and bringing about a beautiful, just, and peaceful Reign of God here on Earth.”
