Laudetur Iesus Christus
Discalced Carmelite Friars are sons of St. Teresa of Jesus and St. John of the Cross, stemming from the ancient Order of the Brothers of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mt. Carmel. We are mendicants, living fruitfully the contemplative, active calling, with two hours of mental prayer daily (like our Nuns) and apostolates including retreats, spiritual direction, preaching (Carmelite Novenas), parish ministry, and a mission in Uganda, Africa. Whatever we do is to be imbued with our charism of prayer - seeking deep union with our Lord Jesus and forming others in the spiritual life, especially through the teaching of our holy doctors. We are totally Marian!
