The Cistercian Order of the Strict Observance is a monastic order wholly directed to contemplation. Our day is balanced between daily Eucharist, the Liturgy of the Hours, manual work, and spiritual reading (Lectio Divina). Monastic values such as obedience, simplicity, humility, silence, solitude, work, and constant prayer continually call us to deeper conversion in our relationship with Jesus and in our love for the world. We are located on 650 acres of rolling farm and woodlands near the Mississippi River; good stewardship and sustainability are key in how we decide to use our land as a gift from God.
