The Congregation of Holy Cross is a community of pontifical right: men living and working under the authority of the successor of Peter. Founded by Blessed Basil Moreau, we are priests and brothers, bound together in one indivisible brotherhood. Our charism is to serve as "Educators in the Faith" in parishes, in missions in 16 countries, and in high schools, colleges, and universities (including the University of Notre Dame). Our spirituality may be summed up by our motto: "Ave Crux Spes Unica" (Hail the Cross, Our Only Hope). Holy Cross Brother, Saint André Bessette, "The Miracle Man of Montreal," inspired the construction of St. Joseph's Oratory in Montreal. Holy Cross Father, the Venerable Patrick Peyton, "The Rosary Priest," was the first to proclaim the familiar phrases: "The family that prays together stays together" and "A world at prayer is a world at peace.” Visit cscvocations.org to learn more.
