Viatorians proclaim Jesus Christ and His Gospel and raise communities where faith is lived, deepened, and celebrated. Viatorians are professed brothers and priests, together with women and men lay associates, striving to do everything well, so that, through us, Jesus may be adored and loved. Our ministry often takes place in parishes and schools, and we are also deeply involved in walking with young people, working for social justice, and accompanying those who society may account of little importance. Our American province's work is primarily in northeastern Illinois and southern Nevada, as well as our foundation in Colombia. Founded in the 1830s in France by Venerable Louis Querbes, we embrace our namesake and patron, St. Viator, whose name means "on the way", and go where we are needed.
