We are an international congregation of women religious serving in the U.S. and around the world in Belgium, Brazil, Democratic Republic of Congo, France, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Nigeria, Peru, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur live simply in the footsteps of our foundress Saint Julie Billiart. Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur change lives by making known God’s goodness throughout the world. We are committed to education, and we stand with poor people, especially women and children living in the most abandoned places. Many structures in society contribute to engendering and maintaining poverty throughout the world. We work to change these oppressive structures and to help people obtain adequate means for life and human dignity: food, clothing, shelter, medical care, work and education. We believe that education in varied forms is the best means for changing structures and improving the lives of individuals, families, groups and nations. We commit ourselves to education for life.
