The Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa have been preaching and teaching for over 175 years. We are rooted in the 800 year legacy of Dominic de Guzman, who founded the Order of Preachers in the 13th century and many women and men who followed the Dominican path as sisters, friars, nuns, and laity. Our Mission Statement affirms that as Sinsinawa Dominican women, we are called to proclaim the Gospel through the ministry of preaching and teaching in order to participate in the building of a holy and just Church and society. Essentials for our Dominican life are prayer, study, community, and ministry. Nearly 300 Sisters minister in 19 states in the United States plus Bolivia and Trinidad and Tobago as educators, social workers, pastoral ministers, liturgists, doctors, lawyers, advocates for peace, justice, and care of creation, and spiritual guides. You are invited to consider sharing the vitality of our Dominican Life.
