Joys of the Sea

Join your fellow water protectors at this community-building fundraiser. This special event will include delicious plant-based food, a silent auction, and stunning ocean views. Joys of the Sea will feature remarks from the 2024 Suzanne Golas Spirit of Water Award winner. Are you interested in reaching thousands of water protectors by sponsoring this event or donating an auction item? Reach out to water@waterspirit.org to learn more about sponsorship opportunities. Meet our Honoree! At Joys of the Sea, the 2024 Suzanne Golas Spirit of Water Award will be awarded to Jenna Reynolds, Founder and Director of Save Coastal Wildlife. Since she was a child, Jenna Reynolds has been exploring the amazing life along the edge of the Atlantic Ocean from the Gulf of Maine to the Caribbean Sea. A graduate of Bard College in New York State, she received a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies, and has devoted the better part of her life to educating people of all ages about the importance of biodiversity, clean water, and habitat protection. In 2018, she helped create Save Coastal Wildlife, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting biodiversity and providing a voice for wildlife along the Jersey Shore including imperiled species like whales, horseshoe crabs, seahorses, and many species of sea birds and shellfish. For the past 5 years, Jenna has been a practicing Buddhist. Every day, she tries to be mindful of her actions and to enjoy the great gift of being alive, healthy and living her authentic life in harmony with nature. Jenna is a principal park naturalist for the Monmouth County Park System, an adjunct professor at Brookdale Community College and a former lecturer at Monmouth University. She has been on both the Atlantic Highlands and Monmouth County environmental commissions, as well as the New Jersey Chair of the Citizen Action Committee for the New York-New Jersey Harbor Commission. In addition to being a life-long environmentalist, Jenna is a strong advocate for equality, peace, and LGBTQ+ rights.
