Spring FeverThe old adage that April showers bring May flowers gives each of us the hope that by May good weather and new life is on its way.

With the April we've had, the sense of hope and new life seem to be hidden from us. This past month we witnessed horrific bombings in Boston, we had to file our income taxes (the return check is nice),  witnessed a catastrophic explosion in Texas, and throughout the years, April has been a month of sadness and heartache. When I think of the tragedies that have come out of the month of April, it is truly hard to see the light, to know that something good is blossoming, but we have to wait until the storms pass to see it.

As dark as April has been, we have to remember to keep the faith and remind ourselves that the light is present. We have to sift through the bad, the dark, the heartache to get to the hope and the new day ahead. Showers are so fitting for April because the rain washes away the dirt, sweat, and tears to make way for the beautfiul flowering of the new and the fresh. The flowers are the eternal hope and light that we long for and it takes the rain to help wash away the bad to bring out the good.

My playlist for April focuses on  a new day of hope and optimisim. The notion that goodness and light is right around the corner and that the showers have washed away all the fears, the hurt, and the anxiety in our lives to bring out the hope, the sunshine, the flowers!

"Behold, I make all things brand new!" (2 Corinthians 5:17). AMEN!
