What is a Jubilee Year? In the Catholic Church, the concept of Jubilee or ‘Holy Year’ was used to declare special years for forgiveness and reconciliation. The 2025 Jubilee, which has the theme of “Pilgrims of Hope” will be a year of hope and trust for a world suffering the impacts of war, the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and the increased threats to the climate. Intended as a time of conversion and emphasis on God’s mercy and forgiveness of sins, the Jubilee of Hope will begin in December 2024 with Pope Francis opening the “holy door” in St. Peter’s Basilica. Holy Doors at each of the four papal basilicas in Rome are destination points for pilgrims, who pass through seeking special graces. (Source: Catholic Bishops Conference) Mornese Pilgrimage will allow pilgrims to visit and pray... the humble beginnings of St. Mary Mazzarello and the First group of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (Salesian Sisters) in Mornese and visit the place St. John Bosco worked with his boys and built a Church to honor Mary Help of Christians in Turin. Important Information Date: July 19 - August 4, 2025 Cost: $3,999 per person (includes daily breakfast, transportation (land), accommodation, entrance fees, registration for the week of Youth Jubilee, Priest who will accompany us in our pilgrimage, Salesian Tee-shirt) $1,000 Registration fee is needed to secure your place (nonrefundable) Formation in preparation for the pilgrimage (hybrid: in-person and Zoom) Possible holy places to visit: Mornese, Nizza, Turin, Milan, Siena, Florence, Orvieto, Assisi, Subiaco, Monte Cassino, and Rome (depending on the budget.)
